AEDs Saves Lives!
The AED analyzes a victim's condition and if necessary, delivers an electrical shock to the heart to reverse sudden cardiac arrest. One button operation with clear voice directions and automatic analysis enables a layperson to use the device.
AEDs are needed at worksites, churches, schools, recreational and fitness centers, theaters and other public facilities. The Good Samaritan Law exists in North Carolina to protect users and owners from liability with AED programs.

The key to surviving sudden cardiac arrest is the speed of response. If a victim receives a shock within one minute, there is a 90% or more chance of survival. If a victim must wait ten minutes for shock, the chance of survival plummets to less than 5%.
